People are calling for hobby horsing to be made a new Olympic sport after videos of the unique activity went viral online.
In recent years the Olympics have been trying to rejuvenate and diversify their audience with newer, more niche and stranger sports to captivate the attention of global viewers.
We’ve had skateboarding, surfing and the infamous breakdancing added into the games, with baseball, flag football and lacrosse joining the party in Los Angeles 2028.
Now people have been calling for a new, unique sport to be added to the mix.
Hobby horsing is a sport which originated in Finland and reflects equestrian sports just without actual horses.

Participants use a hobby horse (a stick with a toy horse on the top) place between their legs to perform gymnastic elements similar to show jumping and other equestrian events.
The sport has grown massive popularity in recent years, notably during covid, and now people want to see it at the next Olympics after seeing a video of the latest championships in Germany.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter) one person said: “Why is this not a sport in the Olympics? Get rid of Breakdancing and add Hobby Horsing.
Another person questioned: “When are we gonna put hobby horsing in the Olympics?”
While one commenter wrote: “Hi Internet, what about swapping all equestrian disciplines with hobby horsing next Olympics?”
Hobby horsing originated in Finland with people running through Nordic forests with their faux horses more than 20 years ago, but gained real popularity in recent years, following its featuring in a film festival winning flick.
Germany celebrated their first hobby horsing championships this year in Frankfurt where hundreds turned up to compete.
