Paul Pogba has reportedly refused to take out a visa that would enable him to travel to China for Manchester United’s upcoming pre-season tour.

This report comes from Spanish football journalist José Alvarez via El Chiringuito TV, after murmurings in Manchester that Pogba is growing increasingly disillusioned with Manchester United and fancies a move in the summer.

And while this reported act of insubordination may come across as unprofessional, can you really blame Pogba for wanting to leave?

United are in need of an overhaul from top to bottom as they enter a crucial part of the club’s history. Having already put their trust in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to oversee these huge changes, it should come as no surprise that Pogba has reservations about the how such a project will be implemented.

Real Madrid seem to be leading the race to sign the World Cup winner, as they too are looking to rejuvenate an ageing squad. But Madrid are not exactly in what the Spanish would call a ‘good moment’ either, as they come to the end of a barren season.

They do, however, have a manager whose word is taken as gospel in the Spanish capital in Zinedine Zidane, given his record of winning three Champions League titles in his first three years as a manager.

It doesn’t take a genius to work out that from Pogba’s perspective, moving to Madrid this summer would be an ideal move. Will United let him, though? Unlikely. But first they’ve got to get him on a plane to China.
