Paul Pogba causes confusion with bizarre adjustment to his Juventus shirt (Pics)

Mystery solved!

After an impressive campaign last season, many expected Paul Pogba to move on from Juventus.

Moves to Real Madrid and Barcelona were mooted in the press, with Chelsea, Manchester City and former club Manchester United also thought to be interested in the midfielder.

Instead, Pogba remained in Turin and was given Juventus’ famous number 10 jersey, previously worn by the likes of Michel Platini, Roberto Baggio and Alessandro Del Piero.

But in the weekend’s game with Atalanta, Pogba had made an unusual alteration to his shirt.

Appearing to have written ‘+5’ beside the number 10, some claimed Pogba was attempting something similar to that of Ivan Zamorano – the former Inter player who lost his number nine jersey to the Brazilian Ronaldo and added a + symbol between the digits of his new number 18, equalling his old shirt number.

Some even doubted whether Pogba was responsible at all.

Pogba was responsible, but in actual fact, he’d not written ‘+5′, but ’75’. The number was a tribute to Pele, another man that wore the number 10 on his shirt, who recently celebrated his 75th birthday.
