Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would be overruled in any attempt to sell Anthony Martial

Martial is going nowhere this summer

Anthony Martial's Manchester United future is safe as houses and he will be protected from any attempt by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to sell him. Martial's reliability in front of goal has been a cause for concern among supporters, with just 23 Premier League goals in his last three seasons for the Red Devils. The former Monaco forward has yet to nail down a consistent place in United's starting XI and while his ability to pull off feats of brilliance on the odd occasion is without question, he is not doing it often enough in the eyes of many fans. On several occasions, the French forward has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford and even Solskjaer, who has done his best to avoid publicly criticising his players, reportedly lost his patience with an apparent lack of effort from Martial towards the end of the season. But in the rumoured overhaul of playing staff at United this summer, we shouldn't expect Martial to go anywhere because apparently, he is viewed as the club's own version of Brazilian legend, Pele, by co-chairman Joel Glazer. The Mirror report that Martial is Glazer's favourite player and will remain at United regardless of any offers that come in for him as both Glazer and executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward see the France international as a crucial part of United's future. In January, Martial signed a contract extension worth a reported £200,000-a-week which will keep him at Old Trafford until 2023 and if Solskjaer even entertains the idea of parting ways with the former Monaco man, like predecessor Jose Mourinho did, he will be overruled in no uncertain terms by the higher-ups at the club.
