Gary Neville has revealed his brief pre-match chat with Cristiano Ronaldo on Monday night was entirely mundane - despite what Piers Morgan had suggested on Twitter.
Neville was on punditry duty for Sky Sports for United's 2-1 win over Liverpool at Old Trafford on Monday, where Ronaldo was named on the bench.
Ahead of kick-off, Sky's coverage was briefly interrupted by Ronaldo, who came over to the touchline to say hello to his former teammates Neville and Roy Keane while they were live on air.
Ronaldo first goes over to Neville, completely blanks Jamie Carragher, then speaks to Keane before continuing with his warmup.
While you can hear a bit more of what is said between him and Keane, his exchange with Neville is slightly harder to make out.

Morgan, who is still a thing, speculated on Twitter that Neville's assessment of Ronaldo's attempts to leave United this summer meant the five-time Ballon d'Or winner might not have shown him the same level of warmth and affection as he did Keane.
'I strongly suspect he wasn't Mr Neville any heartfelt gratitude for his recent observations either.... care to tell us what he said to you @GNev2?'
Neville responded soon after:
'He said "Are you good?" To which I replied "yes , are you good?" He replied "yes". I replied "all the best". Were you expecting something else Piers ?'

Not exactly frosty.
United recovered from their underwhelming to take a two-goal lead through goals from Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford - one in each half. Mo Salah halved the deficit for Liverpool late on, but United's defence held out to see them climb above Jurgen Klopp's side in the table.
