And then there were eight

Manchester United have drawn Barcelona in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. Elsewhere in the draw, Liverpool have drawn Porto, all but guaranteeing themselves a place in the semi-finals for the second consecutive season. The winners of those ties will meet in the semi-final.

Tottenham Hotspur have been drawn against Manchester City in an all Premier League tie, with a semi-final against either Juventus or Ajax lined up.

This is when the competition really hots up. For neutrals, there is nothing better. Those April evenings, the sun just starting to set, and the highest quality of football seen anywhere on the planet on show.

We could also see three English sides in the semi-finals for the first time in ten years, confirming a return to the top of world football for teams on these shores after years of Spanish dominance.
