We know the Manchester United boss is a bit of an eccentric, but apparently the Dutchman ordered his team hotel to be swept for bugs. Just like famous British spy 007, Van Gaal wanted to make sure the rooms were clear of listening devices before he reveals his evil plans ahead of the Liverpool game. The unusual step was taken to make absolutely certain he and his squad were not being spied upon before the crunch Premier League clash with the Merseysiders. Security staff were seen checking under tables, behind curtains and other nooks and crannies for spy gadgets in the dining hall at Manchester's Lowry Hotel before Van Gaal gave the OK to allow his players in, according to The Sun. "Everyone knows the boss is really on-the-ball when it comes to bugs and others spying on him or his team," a source told the newspaper. "The hotel would be an easy target as far as the manager is concerned because they all stay there before a match, so he has it checked." Better safe than sorry, eh Louis?
