Khabib Nurmagomedov finally reveals that cheeky Twitter DM he sent to Conor McGregor

Conversation took a turn

We were all promised a screenshot of that direct message to Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov has not let us down.

The number-one contender in the UFC’s lightweight division has his eyes focused squarely on a crack at the current champion Conor McGregor.

Even before McGregor knocked out Eddie Alvarez , Khabib had been campaigning for a title shot. While he was draining the soul out of Michael Johnson’s body with his grappling prowess at UFC 205, he had been screaming at Dana White in between rounds to give him what he wants.

However, with McGregor looking like he’ll be taking a break from the fight game, Nurmagomedov wants to make sure that his name rises to the top of that Red Panty Night waiting list.

Khabib’s manager Abdel-Aziz recently teased everyone on the MMA Hour by claiming that the Eagle had sent McGregor a direct message on Twitter in an effort to entice him back to the cage.

“He sent him a direct message on Twitter yesterday and he sent me a copy of it. It was very, very funny. He said he’s a champion now, but he ‘needs to die like a Samurai. Irish people have fought for a long time. You live and die like men. Let me kill you, don’t die like a coward.’ (laughs) It was very funny.”

“They follow each other on Twitter, I did not know that.”

Sure enough, that message does actually exist as Nurmagomedov revealed it to the world on Wednesday night.

Your move, McGregor.
