But until recently many thought bringing in the former Borussia Dortmund boss to Anfield was just wishful thinking on the part of the Kopites.
Yet as the start to Liverpool's season continues to falter under Brendan Rodgers after losing to rivals Manchester United with the club now languishing in 10th place, the bookies' odds have been slashed on the eccentric German replacing him.
But the strongest signal yet comes from the German media themselves who claim that Klopp would fancy a stint at Liverpool if Rodgers was axed.
Bild report that the cult German coach would be interested in the job at the 'Cult Club' if the vacancy became available.
