Jon Jones reveals he hasn’t spoken to Dana White since week of UFC 200

"The story can't end like this".

Jon Jones is playing the waiting game when it comes to a UFC return, let alone another title chance.

The former light heavyweight champion was stripped of his interim belt after failing a drug test in the lead-up to UFC 200 in Las Vegas, and has been handed a one-year ban by the US Anti-Doping Association.

‘Bones’ does not know if he will be given a chance to reclaim the title he never actually surrendered in competition, admitting that his last contact with UFC President Dana White came in the week that he tested positive for a banned substance.

“No one has spoken to me about whether I get an immediate shot or whether they make me fight at least once or twice before,” Jones told The Joe Rogan Experience, as transcribed by MMAJunkie.

“I have no clue what they are actually planning on doing. I literally haven’t spoken to Dana White since fight week of UFC 200.”

Jones, who previously spent more than a year out of the Octagon after being involved in a hit-and-run incident, said “I have to fight because the story can’t end like this.”

The 29-year-old, who has a 22-1 career record (16-1) UFC, has not suffered a single defeat since 2009.
