This could be a brilliant fight

Jake Paul has confirmed that he has a replacement opponent ready following reports of an arrest warrant being issued for Nate Diaz.

Police have issued an arrest warrant for Nate Diaz on suspicion of second-degree battery after he choked out a ‘Logan Paul lookalike’ during a brawl on the street in New Orleans.

The incident took place in the Louisiana city after a boxing event that the former UFC fighter attended to support his friend Chris Avila, who beat Paul Bamba via unanimous decision, on Friday.

After the Misfits Boxing 6 event at XULA Convention Center, Diaz – who beat Conor McGregor during his time in the Octagon – was filmed getting into an altercation with a man, who he appeared to choke out in what is now a viral video.

New Orleans Police Department has now reportedly issued a warrant for his arrest.

News of the arrest warrant saw KSI – a long-term rival of Paul – throw his name into contention if Diaz has to pull out of the event on August 5.

He tweeted: “Well, if that mean Jake won’t have an opponent in August… Then I’ll gladly come as the replacement after I KO Joe Fournier in May.”

Paul replied and accepted the internet sensation-turned-boxer’s offer, saying: “Great. I accept you as the backup opponent.

“Fight is at 185. There are no rehydration clauses. Stay in shape and we will give you a call if needed. Thanks buddy for being so humble and committed.”

The comment left fans excited at the prospect of the hotly anticipated bout actually taking place sooner than they think and some even believe it would better than Paul taking on Diaz.

“Omg it’s finally happening,” wrote one fan.

Another tweeted: “Bro screw Nate Diaz I’m just trynna see Jake & KSI fight.”
