The Man City man was repeatedly fouled throughout the match

Jack Grealish was involved in bizarre altercation with Mexican goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa during Wednesday night’s pre-season clash in Houston.

Manchester City secured a 2-1 victory over Club America, with Kevin De Bruyne scoring twice for Pep Guardiola’s side at the NRG Stadium.

The Belgian opened the scoring with a stunning strike from range, before Henry Martin equalised for Club America in the 43rd minute.

However, De Bruyne bagged again before half-time to give City a 2-1 advantage – with Guardiola’s men able to hold onto their lead.

Grealish clashes with Club Amercia shot-stopper

During the match, a frustrated Grealish clashed with Club Amercia goalkeeper Ochoa, after what appeared to be an attempt at good sportsmanship from the Mexican.

In the 27th minute of the game, Grealish crashed into Ochoa following a heavy touch. While the 37-year-old tried to help the England international back to his feet, the former Aston Villa man was not impressed.

Grealish was also involved in another incident in the second-half, this time with Club America defender Bruno Valdez.

The Paraguayan centre-back wiped out the City man with a heavy tackle – leading to Grealish venting his frustrations after being repeatedly fouled throughout the match.

Despite the mild controversy, Guardiola was pleased with the victory and overall performance, suggesting that the mount of City supporters inside the NRG Stadium was a sign of their growth in recent years.

“It’s an honour,” he said. “We are so proud. When we arrived here five, six years ago and lost to United there were only a few blue shirts and now there are a lot.

“We were happy to see them and the game was really good.”

The reigning Premier League champions face off against Bayern Munich in their final pre-season friendly on Sunday, before they compete against Liverpool for the Community Shield on July 30.
