Harry Redknapp has offered to return to Tottenham Hotspur with Antonio Conte expected to be sacked this week.

Daniel Levy is reportedly set to relieve Conte of his duties after his outburst in the aftermath of Spurs’ 3-3 draw against Southampton last weekend.

Conte criticised both his players and the club’s philosophy however the Italian claimed that his comments were only directed towards the players.

There currently seems to be no plan to find a successor of yet, with Ryan Mason allegedly set to be announced as an interim head coach until the end of the season.

Mason took charge of the 2021 Carabao Cup final shortly after José Mourinho was sacked but could be offered the chance to return and Redknapp has offered to help the 31-year-old.

Speaking to TalkSPORT, he said: “If someone asks you, I think it would be hard to say no, I’ll be truthful. When you love it, you do find it hard to say no.”

Redknapp did add that he hadn’t made contact with Levy, but said he would ‘love’ the opportunity to help out Mason.

“You look at what you’re doing now, sitting around, having a game of golf, and it’s not the money, it’s the challenge, you love it, the buzz of it, winning a game is a fantastic feeling. It’s hard to say no.

“With a young manager I often think that they don’t use older figures, but I think there is room for older people to go in with them and work with a young manager, even if it was only for a couple of days a week just to be around.

“They can bounce ideas off you – I think that’s important. It’s a lonely job and you need all the help you can get.”

The 76-year-old hasn’t managed a club since 2017, retiring after 13 games in charge of Birmingham City.

During his career he spent four successful years between 2008-2012 at Spurs, recording 98 wins in 198 matches and guiding the north London club to the Champions League.
