As far as Saturday's go, it was a very painful one for McClean. Not only did the Irish winger have to cope with the emotional turmoil of Liverpool handing his West Bromwich Albion a 2-1 defeat, but he also suffered the physical pain of a nasty leg injury. Sadio Mane and Philippe grabbed Liverpool's goals in the first half while Gareth McAuley smashed in a consolation goal for the Baggies in the 81st minute. McClean was taken off the field after 65 minutes after receiving a knock earlier in the game. In real time, it didn't look like that bad of an injury. Although there was a small amount of blood on his sock, he appeared to walk off the field comfortably. He uploaded a picture of the gruesome leg gash that ended his night early. He captioned the photo with "If it was vice versa," which is likely a dig at the officials for failing to punish the player who did it to him, hinting that the punishment may have been more severe if he was the one who committed the foul.
