These words, coupled with the Chinese flag and bank note emojis, implied that Carragher was set to follow a number of European-based players by signing up to a lucrative contract with one of the Chinese Super League sides.
Being honest, we suspected something wasn't quite right here and soon enough a further tweet from Carragher's Twitter account clarified what was actually going on.
Quoting the original tweet, Carragher explained that he wasn't responsible for it, adding it was probably the work of a hacker. Despite this, he didn't completely rule out the idea of a move to China and suggested he'd be happy enough to sign a big-money deal.

This comes just hours after Manchester United's Ashley Young was linked with a move to Shandong Luneng. Young, who is now 31, has hardly featured for United under José Mourinho this season and has been linked with a move to several Premier League clubs during the January window.
Time will tell if Young (and Carragher) end up plying their trade in China...
