If only they had some sort of, I don't know, video reviewing system for incidents such as this
The Champions League quarter-final match-up between Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City sprung into life within the first 15 minutes after a controversial penalty was awarded to City because of a VAR review. After watching a video replay, the referee deemed Danny Rose to have committed a deliberate handball and pointed to the spot, much to the shock of the Spurs players, Rose himself and just about everybody else in the stadium.
Sergio Aguero ended up missing the spot-kick, which was comfortably saved by Hugo Lloris, but the tone for the rest of the match was set.
Things gradually grew more heated and it was no surprise to see that occasional purveyor of the dark arts, Fernandinho, pull off a sneaky elbow to the head of Harry Kane after landing on top of the Spurs striker whilst challenging for a header.
As you can imagine given the extremely harsh penalty decision that took place roughly 20 minutes before it, everyone watching at home began asking the question: well, why hasn't this actual infringement been reviewed by VAR?
And let's be honest, after a slower viewing, they do have a point. This is a straight red card for Fernandinho if it is seen by the referee and a huge momentum swinger for the rest of the match, quite possibly the tie.
