Fans offered refunds after concert cancellation

Charli XCX has cancelled a scheduled concert in Arizona after a prolonged bout of illness caused her to lose her voice.

The pop star was expected to perform at Desert Diamond Arena as part of her Music, Fashion, Film tour, but will now miss the date after struggling with her health throughout the run of shows.

Explaining the decision on Instagram, the 34-year-old said her voice had given out completely after weeks of trying to push through being unwell.

She also shared how much the cancellation meant to her, explaining that her performances take a considerable physical and emotional toll and that she was heartbroken not to be able to appear for fans.

Attempts to rearrange the concert proved unsuccessful, leaving the original date cancelled.

Charli apologised to those who had planned to attend, adding: "I’m so disappointed, but promise to return to AZ in the future."

She is now focusing on getting some rest ahead of her next performance.
