Paul Pogba admits that attitude was wrong for Brighton clash

Paul Pogba has held his hands up for Manchester United's defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion.

United conceded three goals in the first half at the Amex Stadium as crucial ground was already lost in the Premier League title race and several players have come in for criticism. Glenn Murray, Shane Duffy and Pascal Gross found the net for the hosts before the break, with Romelu Lukaku also getting on the scoresheet ahead of what would have been a tense half-time team talk. And while Pogba scored from the spot for the second successive game, the French midfielder has admitted that United were guilty of going into the game with the wrong attitude. Speaking to Sky Sports after the match, Pogba said: "We lost and the attitude that we had I thought we deserved to win. From the start we knew it was a hard game to play playing against a smaller club than Manchester United but the attitude that we had is not like we wanted to beat them. "They had more hunger than us and I think they showed that, but our attitude wasn’t right. We kept trying and pushing and it will be a big lesson for us. "I think we made a mistake that we shouldn’t make and it was 1-0 and that’s okay but then it was 2-0 and we came back to 2-1 and we had hope we could score again in the first half but then we concede a goal which is a hit for us and in the first half it was a hit and very disappointing and we tried to push but players like myself we kept losing a lot of balls and we kept trying until we scored the goal but it was too late. "We played at home in the first game and now away, it’s two different games, playing against Brighton it’s two different teams as well with different tactics. "You can not always operate the game the same way as the last one it always has to focused and we always want to play better than the last game. But we know we can’t always play very good but our attitude has to be right, and it wasn’t today."
