Former Watford and Tottenham midfielder Moussa Sissoko has denied claims he was taken to court after he failed to pay his energy bills. Sissoko, who now plays for French side Nantes, is reported to have amassed huge amounts of debt when living at his £3m flat in Mayfair, London. It was alleged that Yu Energy in the County Court Business Centre are now pursuing the 33-year-old, who was earning around £80,000-a-week during his time at Watford, having ruled that he must pay £61,700. A source told The Sun: "There's no way he can avoid the liability." However Sissoko has gone on record to deny those claims and insisted that his name was used incorrectly. He tweeted: "You used my name and image for a matter that doesn't concern me. Sissoko stayed for just one season at Vicarage Road, scoring two goals in 36 appearances before returning to his native country this summer. Since his return, the midfielder has featured 11 times in all competitions for Nantes across Ligue 1 and the Europa League. It also remains to be seen as to whether or not he'll be picked for France's World Cup squad. Didier Deschamps' side are looking to retain their World Cup crown and begin their defence against Australia on November 22 before taking on Denmark and Tunisia in Group D. Related links:
