Mino Raiola meets with Barça and Madrid chiefs to discuss Haaland’s future

It’s looking like superstar Erling Braut Haaland, could be on the move again already as Mino Raiola begins talks

Pretty much everyone is in agreement: Erling Braut Haaland is one of the most desired young talents and already one of the deadliest strikers on the planet. He joined Borussia Dortmund in January 2020 and already has a phenomenal 33 goals and eight assists this season. Others clubs aren’t waiting around – they want him.

As per Fabrizio Romano and Sky Sports, his agent, Mino Raiola – who manages numerous big clients including Pogba, Zlatan and Donnarumma, just to name a few – has already met with Barcelona officials today and is now on his way to meet Real Madrid’s representatives too. The same day.

We know things move fast in football and the business side of things are always going on behind the scenes, but we didn’t necessarily expect the transfer speculation to start ramping up again this quickly. Haaland’s father and former Man City player, Alf-Inge Håland, is also believed to be present.

Haaland has been linked with every club under the sun: City (to replace the departing Aguero), Bayern Munich, PSG; Chelsea, United—you get the point. That being said, with the current state of affairs at the two big Spanish clubs as they are – both going through somewhat of a sticky transitional stage – they didn’t always look the likeliest of destinations.

On the other hand, Madrid had to pull back on their spending in the last two seasons, so they could have saved up the funds for their next ‘galáctico’; equally, Barca could still see their greatest asset and footballing icon, Lionel Messi, end his legendary career their this summer, so who knows? What’s certain is that every man and his dog wants Haaland.

He already looks to be what is a generational talent, alongside Kylian Mbappe, with both already having seemingly been chosen to carry on the torch from Messi and Ronaldo. The question is how far are clubs willing to go to secure his signature and his other-worldly goalscoring ability?

One thing we do know is that should he go, wherever that may be, it’ll be for astronomical sums. Raiola always manages to squeeze the big money out of clubs for his clients (often to the detriment of his own reputation), but you don’t pass up on the opportunity to sign elite players like this. Keep your eyes peeled for a potential world-record fee.
