Leicester City fans pay tribute to their late chairman

JOE

It’s been almost one year since Leicester City chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha tragically died in a helicopter crash

On Saturday thousands of Leicester supporters took to the streets to march from the city centre to the King Power Stadium in honour of their late chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha.

Srivaddhanaprabha was one of five people who died on October 27 last year when a helicopter crashed at the team’s stadium.

The 60-year-old became something of a cult figure amongst Foxes supporters since he took control of the club in 2010, even more so after winning the Premier League title in extraordinary fashion in 2015/16.

Fans on the march carried white scarves dedicated to ‘Mr Chairman’ and bearing the message ‘Forever In Our Hearts’, which they then held aloft during the minute silence before kick-off.

Leicester beat Burnley 2-1 thanks to goals from Jamie Vardy and Youri Tielemans.
