Ivan Toney allegedly deleted an Instagram message that saw him praising Arsenal star Declan Rice, sparking speculation about a January move.
Rice headed home in the seventh minute of stoppage time to earn Arsenal a 4-3 win against Luton Town on Tuesday night to extend their lead at the top of the table to five points.
Toney meanwhile is in the closing stages of his eight-month ban from football for breaching FA betting rules however it hasn't stopped the forward from being linked with a move away.
Before his ban, the one-time England international was one of the most sought-after players and has been linked with moves to Arsenal and Chelsea.
With the January transfer window on the horizon, fresh speculation of a move to Arsenal has arisen and his activity on social media has got fans excited.
Impressed by Rice's late heroics, Toney posted to Instagram: "@DeclanRice. What a game."
He then quickly deleted the post but now many feel he is set for a move to the Emirates Stadium in 2024.
"Ivan Toney at Arsenal will be madness, if they go on to be winter champions and he joins in January, they are DEFINITELY winning the League," said one fan.
"Come to the red carpet my guy, he can assist you too you know," wrote another.
