Fenerbahce threaten to withdraw from Turkish Super Lig.

The decision has been motivated by alleged historical 'unfair treatment'

Ugly scenes occurred after their late 3-2 win against Trabzonspor as missiles thrown from the stands hit several players including  Edin Dzeko, Dusan Tadic and goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic.

Livkavoic was even left bleeding after a coin hit him on the chin.

After the game Trabzonspor fans then invaded the pitch and began to attack the Fenerbahce players. Nigeria international Bright Osayi-Samuel and Dutch full-back Jayden Oosterwolde fought back, with Osayi-Samuel even bringing a fan to the ground and punching him.

Michy Batshuayi also unleashed a spinning kick on a supporter in scenes that followed just months after Turkish club president ran onto the pitch and attacked a referee.

In response to the recent spate of violence, Fenerbahce have warned the league that they may walk away if things don't improve.

According to The Athletic, the decision has been motivated by alleged historical "unfair treatment' by the Turkish authorities and government."

They're expected to put the issue to a general assembly of the club’s members on April 2.

Earlier this week club president Ali Koc said: "The treatment Fenerbahce receives is not something we can tolerate."

If they chose to withdraw from the league they would be forced to forfeit their remaining matches and as a result, would be relegated to the second tier of Turkish football.
