"Do a Muay Thai fight," they said. "It'll be fun," they said.
It's the combat sport which definitely brings about the most brutal cuts, with elbows and knees allowed, and everything about it just looks so very unenjoyable.
The intense weight-cutting, the fact that the events are regularly held in draining humidity and the exhausting clinch work just goes to tell you that Muay Thai is exclusively for the toughest of tough.
So imagine adding to the already gruelling aspect of the sport by competing with an upset stomach!
It's hard not to feel sorry for Kanchai Jitmuangnon, who was quite clearly unwell when he took to the ring against Khaokao Sitpuyainiran recently.
Towards the end of the third round of their back-and-forth battle, the repeated knees to his already tender stomach left Jitmuangnon with no option.

He simply had to vomit on the referee.
As he exited a clinch, Jitmuangnon let fly with an impressive stream of puke, plenty of which landed on the befuddled man in the middle.
Sitpuyainiran pounced and forced some more sick out of his battered opponent as he hit the mat in a heap.
Not the best day at the office for the poor fellow.
