Eidur Gudjohnsen’s joke perfectly sums up José Mourinho’s miserable Chelsea return

Can't argue with this...

From minute one (literally), a nightmare return to Stamford Bridge for José Mourinho.

Finishing up on the wrong end of a 4-0 battering, Manchester United were punished by poor defending and toothless attacking against Chelsea.

A mix-up between United’s defenders and goalkeeper allowed Pedro to put Chelsea ahead for the fastest Premier League goal of the season after 30 seconds, a lead which was doubled by Gary Cahill before half-time. Despite a better start to the second half (it couldn’t really have been much worse), Eden Hazard and N’Golo Kanté put the game out of United’s sight.

Obviously, those connected with Chelsea were pretty pleased about the way things panned out, including former striker Eidur Gudjohnsen.

The 38-year-old, who was part of Mourinho’s first Chelsea squad before leaving for Barcelona in 2006, perfectly summed up Mourinho’s return with just one tweet as the mach approached full-time.

This heavy defeat at Stamford Bridge leaves United in seventh place in the Premier League, six points from its summit. They now face Manchester City in the League Cup on Wednesday before returning to Premier League action against Burnley next Saturday.
