Did Agent Paul Pogba convince Thomas Lemar to turn down Arsenal and wait for Man United?

Agent P strikes again.

Paul Pogba has a nickname amongst Manchester United supporters due to his unusual influence over the club's transfer activity. The Frenchman is of course a larger than life personality, and clearly very popular amongst his fellow peers. With his natural charisma and irascible enthusiasm, he can be very hard to say no to. And 'Agent Pogba' knows it. The fan alias refers to the midfielder's constant attempts to get his favourite players/mates to join him at Old Trafford. He has been working away on Antoine Griezmann for months now, and Romelu Lukaku admits that the former Juve man used to drive him past the Theatre of Dreams to convince him to join.

Arsenal were trying everything they could to get Monaco ace Thomas Lemar to sign for them on Thursday. In the end, the player just wasn't keen on joining a side in the Europa League, and in the short term at least, fair enough. Alas it was a ploy that clearly didn't work. But perhaps that was because another international teammate had got to him first. In the early hours of Friday morning, Pogba shared an Instagram image of himself with goalscorer Lemar with a very intriguing and un-cryptic message. It read, 'Heureux du résultat d'hier, au travail pour le prochain objectif', which translates to 'Happy with yesterday's result, working for the next objective...' - with an #AgentP hashtag....

Pogba clearly knows what he's doing, and how the post will be taken. He may simply be taking the piss, but it's not stopped Manchester United fans thinking he's serious and that Lemar is holding out on a move to Old Trafford.
