Dana White drops a big hint about Robbie Lawler’s UFC title defence

We now know his likely opponent

It looks as though the mammoth UFC 200 card won’t be gaining another huge title fight involving Robbie Lawler.

The reigning welterweight champion has been on Dana White’s case to be added to the bill, but the UFC president has suggested Lawler will have to weight.

“He’s terrorizing me for UFC 200 like every fighter is right now… but Robbie is going to fight at either 201 or 202,” White said during Friday’s edition of RFA 37, as reported by MMAFighting.

And the president suggested Tyron Woodley, the 34-year-old with a 15-3 career MMA record, is the most likely opponent for the San Diego fighter.

A potential fight between Lawler and Conor McGregor has received plenty of hype, with Lawler refusing to rule it out and White himself seemingly dropping the odd hint.

But that was before McGregor lost to Nate Diaz at UFC 196, and the rematch between the pair means the champ will likely be up against someone else when he returns to the Octagon.

One man who was keen to take on ‘Ruthless’ is Rafael Dos Anjos, with the Brazilian pursuing a meeting at UFC 200. But that too seems to be off the cards. We’ll have to wait and see.
