Conor McGregor has forged his fearsome reputation on his supreme knock-out power.
The Notorious has arguably cemented himself as the most feared striker in the whole UFC.
Respected Tristar coach Firas Zahabi called that famous McGregor left hand the ‘touch of death’.
He has put so many fighters to sleep with it – including Dennis Siver, Chas Mendes and lately the former featherweight and pound for pound king Jose Aldo.
But it was the ruthlessly quick manner in which he dispatched the previously untouchable Aldo at UFC 194 that fans say puts his striking on another level.
The man is top of the tree on the game at featherweight with an unbelievable 99 rating for his stand-up.
But his move up to lightweight is where it gets a little bit tricky. The Irish champion, whose face adorns the front cover, might not be too happy to see how his striking ranks in the 155lb division.
The 27-year-old, who was previously Cage Warriors lightweight world champion, hasn’t yet fought in the UFC’s ’55 division.
His striking is rated at a 92 on the game at lightweight.
We wonder how he’s going to react when he switches on the game to take another crack at Jose Aldo to see that his lightweight striking is rated higher…
We never got to see McGregor face Rafael Dos Anjos is in the superfight between the featherweight champion and the lightweight king.
RDA is known for his vicious striking, with the Muay Thai specialist making short work of opponents like Anthony Pettis and Donald Cerrone.
We will have to wait and see who really is the better striker at lightweight, with the Brazilian recovering from a broken foot.
But it looks like EA have given the RDA the higher striking rating…
McGregor is now fighting Nate Diaz at 170lb at UFC 196 on Saturday, but McGregor hasn’t yet got a spot on the game at welterweight.
He is supposedly planning on move up to challenge welterweight king Robbie Lawler – with a fight mooted for UFC 200.
On the game Lawler has impressive striking stats of 96 – we’re sure McGregor would still fancy his chances.
