Brock Lesnar discusses his future following triumphant UFC return

Not giving anything away

Ben Kiely

Brock Lesnar returned to MMA at UFC 200 after a five-year hiatus, but is this the last time we’ll see the former heavyweight champion inside the Octagon?

A lot of people were fearful when it was announced that Lesnar would be taking on top contender Mark Hunt in his return, but the WWE superstar silenced the critics with a phenomenal decision win over the Super Samoan.

As he is still under contract with the WWE, this fight was expected to be a one-off for the Beast. However, once Lesnar started having success with those trademark takedowns and began raining down with nasty ground and pound from the top position, fight fans wanted to see more of Lesnar in MMA.

In the post-fight press conference, Lesnar left the door open for another run in the UFC, but explained that he will need to take his time to weigh up all the options.

“Let’s get one thing clear, Brock Lesnar does what Brock Lesnar wants to do.”

“I believe that my future is already laid out next month. I’m doing Summerslam against Randy Orton. Once the dust settles there, I don’t know what I’m going to do.”

“I’ve had one hell of a time tonight, and I enjoyed myself. We’ll see what happens. It’s way too soon, guys.”

Lesnar walked away from the sport five years ago, a decision he made partly because of his struggles with the disease diverticulitis. However, he is now feeling a whole lot better and believes he can still hang with the UFC’s heavyweight elite.

“I believe anything is possible. I’m excited. My body is feeling pretty good.”

“I’ve been gone 5 years, and I stepped into the Octagon tonight against the guy ranked number 8 in the world. You can write what you want to write, I think I’m still the toughest son of a bitch (out there). This puts me right back into the game. Granted, I’ve got some work to do, but don’t we all?”

“If I wanted to make that decision and keep fighting,”
