Brazil’s World Cup home kit just dropped and it’s a retro choice

Brings back memories of Socrates, Zico and Falcao

Another day, another leaked World Cup kit. And this time, it’s a biggie…

The big kick-off in Russia is still a matter of months away, but with the first international break of the calendar year nearly upon us, we’re already knee-deep in new kit news.

These images, which – as is usually the case – have been unearthed by Footy Headlines, show the new Brazil home shirt.

As the same website told us a few months back, Nike have ditched the bright ‘Canary Yellow’ base colour they have used in recent years for Brazil’s famous home shirt, returning it to a slightly darker colour.

Officially known as ‘Midwest Gold’, this is a nod to the South American country’s sides of the 1980s, who played in a shirt which was generally more golden than bright yellow.

As always, the shirt is finished off with a green trim.

Some of you will have noticed that the design of the shirt is near identical to the new England shirts, with Nike using a similar template.

The shirt is expected to be officially released in March.

Although it probably won’t produce the same kind of reaction as *that* Nigerian shirt, we reckon this one will go down a treat.
