Grealish celebrated his opening goal by diving into the away fans
The Second City derby was tarnished by an act of ugly cowardice in the first half on Sunday afternoon, as a Birmingham City fan ran onto the pitch and punched Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish from behind.
The fan was removed and has since been arrested.
It seems like the Gods of footballing narrative were watching the game too, as Grealish went on to score the only goal of the game, right in front of his adoring travelling fans.
As anyone would in his situation, Grealish celebrated by jumping into the crowd, overcome with joy having dished out the best possible revenge.

During the scenes, stewards guarding the away end gradually sent the Villa players back onto the pitch, as is their duty.
But one steward appeared to be led away by police, after seemingly taking an over-zealous approach to returning Grealish to the pitch.

Despite the suggestion in this tweet, it isn't known whether the steward was arrested, but footage appears to show police officers leading him away from the stand - perhaps for his own safety given the amount of Villa fans around.
