Barca were 2-0 down to minnows Eibar with 30 minutes to play. Their chances of winning the league essentially disappeared when Cristiano Ronaldo scored after two minutes, but they fought to get back into their own game, and at times resorted to desperate measures.
With the score at 2-1, Jordi Alba, somehow, won a penalty for this ludicrous dive. The full-back went to ground despite receiving no contact from an opponent.
However, Messi missed the subsequent penalty, so justice was served. Barcelona went on to win the game 4-2, but Madrid took home their first league title since Jose Mourinho was manager.
