Arsenal vs Man City to be rearranged after Europa League game postponement

Another Premier League fixture postponed

Arsenal’s Premier League meeting with Manchester City next month is to be rescheduled after the club’s Europa League game with PSV Eindhoven was postponed earlier this week.

Mikel Arteta’s side had been scheduled to host the Dutch club at The Emirates Stadium on Thursday, but the game has since been postponed due to a lack of police as London prepares for the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II next Monday.

It has now been announced that the game will be played on Thursday 20 October, kicking off at 6pm. This, however, comes less than 24 hours after Arsenal were due to play Premier League champions City at home.

As a result, the league game has now also been postponed, with no word yet on when the fixture is likely to take place.

The news adds to an already complicated situation for the Premier League, who, after opting to call off an entire round of fixtures last weekend, will now have to find room for a host of other postponements ahead of next weekend.

With the schedule already complicated by the season-interrupting Qatar World Cup in November, finding time to play the fixtures is likely to prove challenging.
