Arsene Wenger looks set to survive yet another transfer window, with reports suggesting that Arsenal are on course to complete deals for a striker *and* a defender that is *not* Jonny Evans.
After a disappointing start to their Premier League campaign, a lack of activity at The Emirates this summer had left some fearing that Wenger might not live to see another transfer window, such was the anger coming from some of the club's 'hashtag Wenger out' brigade.
Arsenal are said to have agreed a deal to sign Deportivo La Coruna striker Lucas Perez which would see the 27-year-old Spaniard move to London with £17.1m heading in the other direction.
After reports suggested Arsenal would need to cough up £25m if they were to bring Jonny Evans in from West Brom, it seems Wenger is also closing in on Shkodran Mustafi from Valencia.
The German international, who impressed at Euro 2016, is said to be costing the club about £10m more than Evans would have done.
Surely such good news would put an end to the calls for Wenger to be relieved of his duties as Arsenal manager?
