Angry Man United fans turn on 'spineless' and 'cowardly' Ed Woodward
Dismay at Louis van Gaal is turning into anger at Ed Woodward.
Man United supporters are not a happy bunch. The Premier League title race is wide open and United are nowhere to be seen. As for the football, it's duller than anything experienced at Old Trafford since the Dave Sexton-era - possibly ever.
Van Gaal has obviously bore the brunt of the fans' displeasure thus far. He is of course culpable for what happens on the pitch, and must take responsibility for turning the Red Devils into the most soul-sapping and impotent unit in the land.
But growing ire is being directed towards United chief Ed Woodward. With continued rumours that Van Gaal has offered to resign, only to be convinced not to by Woodward, the feeling is that the Chief Exec is showing weak leadership.
There is a sense that Woodward is indeed covering his own back, and doesn't want to admit that his 'pick' has turned out to be a failure. Either that or he is involved in a messy power struggle behind the scenes at Old Trafford.
Whatever the reason, the longer that Van Gaal's reign of tedium drags on, the more it makes his boss look feckless and indecisive - especially when a manager of the calibre of Jose Mourinho is sitting around twiddling his thumbs.
Fans are taking to social media to express their increasing angry at a man who seems less Woodward and more 'Can't-Can't'...
I feel sorry tht i spoke crap about Moyes
LvG hasnt done much better
The real problem lies in Ed Woodward who is hiding his failure#MUFC— Prathamesh Barah (@Barahism) January 26, 2016
Even Florentino Perez has more balls than our 'coward & useless' chairman Ed Woodward when making a big decision. #mufc

It's started to feel that more than Van Gaal, it's Ed Woodward who needs to be given the boot by the club. Spineless coward. #MUFC #LVG

If Ed Woodward does not either sack or accept a resignation from LVG today, than he should be sacked himself. Way out of his depth.

So LVG was convinced not to resign TWICE by Ed Woodward. Like for real?! I think both of em should get the boot!
