Heavyweight Anthony Joshua has some real punching power.

He dispatched 50-fight veteran Jason Gavern in under three rounds. Former Olympic gold medal-winning boxer Joshua scored two knock-downs in the second and third rounds before the fight was stopped. But the Watford fighter showed he had some real finesse to his game ahead of a tough clash with Kevin Johnson at the O2 arena on May 30th. JOE took a look at some of the highlights of the fight in Newcastle... Joshua caught Gavern with a few solid shots in the first, but this jab really rattled his skull... The unbeaten Londoner set this shot up nicely with the left straight, then unleashed a powerful right and a hook... He can really find the target from range with that long 83in reach, and follows up with an uppercut at close quarters...   He drops Gavern to the canvas early in the second round with a short, sharp left...   Joshua can really stick a combo together and sends Gavern sprawling to the canvas...   For a big fighter, Joshua has pretty quick fists and can work well on the inside...   Here he proves that he's got that killer instinct following up with a short left hook that finished his opponent...   If he can kill-off Kevin 'Kingpin' Johnson with the same ruthlessness then we have a real contender on our hands.
