Here's a sneak peek at what went down...
If you've been in or around Soho lately, you might have noticed one of the buildings underwent a very unique and tasty transformation lately.
That colourful pop-up was the
OREO Twists Lab - a one-stop-shop for art, creativity and customisation, to celebrate OREO Twists hitting supermarket shelves nationwide.
The Lab appeared on Old Compton Street for two days only, giving passersby the chance to meet and mingle with some
professional and ultra-talented customisers. A lucky handful were even able to take home a one-of-a-kind
customised item designed by the customisers on site.
The five customisers in residence at the OREO Twist Lab on the day included:
- Self-taught 24-year-old designer, Tomiwa Sosanya, who has sold his designs in over 20 countries.
- Aina Fontich, a freelance graphic designer, specialising in bold compositions, bright colours, and kitsch art.
- Abstract artist, Nicolas Dixon, who has been adopted by the UK’s house music and DJ scene as one of its favourite artists.
- London based designer Rina Wanti, known for her creds in Mandala and Henna design has seen her create pieces for the likes of Elton John and Burberry.
- Stefano Meloni, a Customs Lab artist for Vans, famed for a customisation style which reflects the customer's personality.
Together, these artists and designers transformed some everyday
t-shirts, notebooks and
water bottles into pieces of customised art. Those who had booked a slot were able to choose an item and watch as the professional customisers transformed it in to a unique piece of custom art, designed just for them.
Other items including surfboards, footballs and denim jackets were given a unique twist of their own and put on display throughout the customisation lab.
The OREO Twists lab was launched to celebrate that the latest launch from OREO;
OREO Twists, which are available in stores nationwide now.
Giving the classic black and white cookie a unique twist, the OREO Twists range is available in two tasty flavours -
Vanilla & Raspberry and Vanilla & Caramel. Each cookie contains a layer of the famous vanilla creme paired with either caramel or raspberry flavoured creme, giving a tasty twist to the classic OREO cookie.
