Breaking boundaries one sexual encounter at a time

In a bid to normalise people with disabilities having an active sex life, a sex worker and her disabled client have spoken out.

Olive Pearl, 30, and 32-year-old Gavin Thorneycroft are hoping to break the stigma surrounding having sex with a disability.

Thorneycroft, who has cerebral palsy, is wheelchair-bound and so is usually positioned in a sex swing. The duo have gone on to become good friends outside of their sexual encounters and hopes their ‘no holds barred’ content will encourage others to become more open-minded and understanding.

Pearl has been in the sex industry on and off since she was 18. Originally from Hamburg, Germany, she now resides in Melbourne, Australia.

She said: “Gavin is just a regular guy – with the same sexual desires as other people.

“When I spend time with him, I don’t see him as any different to any other client.”

She continued: “We just have to get a little inventive with our positions to make sure it’s comfortable for him – the sex swing is great for that – but that’s it.

“I feel privileged that Gavin trusts me enough to sexually satisfy his needs. We are now good friends, and we always have fun together.”

Gavin also said: “Having sex makes me feel normal, but it was hard to find a sex worker who gets it.

“Olive is so respectful and we have a great time together.

“Just because I’m disabled it doesn’t mean I don’t have the same wants and needs as able-bodied people.

“People with disabilities shouldn’t feel ashamed of having sex and being sexual – it’s totally normal.”

Having initially reached out to Pearl in February 2021, Thorneycroft has since become a regular client, and the duo usually meets once a week.

Outside of the bedroom, the pair make TikTok videos in the hopes of aiding their mission of breaking the stigma around sex and disabilities.

Pearl said: “We want to break the stigma around sex and disability. Instead of believing something you’ve heard, do your own research.

“Talk to people and form your own opinion. Don’t be afraid to admit to mistakes and changing your views. We have to evolve.

“It’s the only way we’re going to be able to break the stigma.”

Thorneycroft says Pearl is the best he has ever been with and confirms that they have amazing chemistry. He says that a lot of people don’t understand how disabilities like cerebral palsy can impact sex.

“People with disabilities still want and need sex and relationships,” he says.

Pearl added: “It’s important that people appreciate that just because someone has a disability it doesn’t mean their need for a sexual relationship isn’t there – they just may need to do things slightly differently.

“All it takes is some time to listen and a little creativity in the bedroom to make magic happen and it’s enjoyable for everyone.

“It gives me great satisfaction – making sure Gavin is fulfilled.”
