President of the European Council Donald Tusk today said if parliament rejects the draft agreement proposed by Theresa May the UK will face two options: no deal or no Brexit.

Tusk warned renegotiation with the EU would not be an option if the Brexit deal was voted down on December 11.

He said: “A few days before the vote in the House of Commons, it is becoming more and more clear that this deal is the best possible – in fact, the only possible one.

“If this deal is rejected in the Commons, we are left with… an alternative: no deal or no Brexit at all. I want to reassure you that the EU is prepared for every scenario.

After the vote on December 11, Tusk will chair a crucial EU meeting .

Theresa May is due to debate Jeremy Corbyn on December 9 ahead of the crunch vote, broadcast on TV, although the timing and host channel is being disputed – because of the I’m a Celebrity… Get me Outta Here! final.
