Donald Trump claims he invented the word ‘equalise’

He wields it with creative might and is just one of the many things that make him as entertaining as puzzling, regardless your thoughts on the bloke.

His latest zinger came on Monday, as the President of the Free World spoke about reducing the extortionate cost of medicines and drugs in the US by up to 80%.

Announcing the change, he claimed he invented the word 'equalise'; clearly he isn't a big football fan.

Speaking in front of press, he said: "Basically, what we’re doing is equalizing. There’s a new word that I came up with, which is probably the best word.

“We’re gonna equalize where we’re all gonna pay the same. We’re gonna pay what Europe’s gonna pay ...”

Of course, with any bold Trump claim, there comes the stark truth hidden behind it, in this case the words equalise has existed since 1599, according to Webster's dictionary.

It's not the only outlandish claim made by the business-mogul-turned-president, after he also suggested that Pope Leo became the first American pope thanks to himself.

Upon the news of his election, Trump said: "Congratulations to Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, who was just named Pope. It is such an honor to realize that he is the first American Pope. What excitement, and what a Great Honor for our Country.

"I look forward to meeting Pope Leo XIV. It will be a very meaningful moment!"

In a follow up post he then implied that it was Trump's support with American Catholics that may have helped the new Pope bestowed with his role.

He posted: "So funny to watch old timer Martha Raditz [correctly spelt Raddatz] on ABC Fake News (the Slopadopolus show!) this morning, blurt out that, effectively, Pope Leo’s selection had nothing to do with Donald Trump," he penned in reference to Raddatz's recent interview with Cardinal Blasé Cupich on This Week.

"It came out of nowhere, but it was on her Trump Deranged Mind," Trump continued. "Remember, I did WIN the Catholic Vote, by a lot!

"Bob Iger should do something about the losers and haters he’s got on his low rated shows. It’s time for change. MAGA!!!"

Just the usual Trump antics then!
