A clip has gone viral online of a 94-year-old Clacton voter beautifully dismantling all the arguments of a Reform councillor.
As Nigel Farage gears up for his big by-election showdown with Count Binface, Reform activists are out pounding the Clacton pavements to try and get locals to vote for their man and avoid the most humiliating result in British political history.
And whilst Farage is a heavy favourite to win in what could well be considered the most pro-Reform town in the UK, there are still plenty of residents who have no time for him.
This has been demonstrated in all its glory by one 94-year-old man who decided to take on a Reform canvasser.
When councillor Justin Jay from Maldon, Essex, knocked on this door, he probably wasn’t expecting this level of pushback against his calls for a vote for Farage.
In a must-watch video, the man schools Jay on every point he makes about Farage,
The crowning glory is when the pensioner dismantles Jay’s arguments for why Farage chose to hold a by-election now instead of waiting for the outcome of the parliamentary investigation into the £5m gift he received from Christopher Harborne.
Jay tried to claim the investigation was not independent and in fact “under the control of Labour,” with the man accurately telling Jay he is talking “absolute bollocks.”
The Clacton resident also brings up reports that convicted criminal George Cottrell had been donating gifts and payments to Farage.
Another wonderful moment comes when the man tells the Maldon councillor that he calls the Reform UK leader “Nigel Mirage,” due to his absence from Clacton.
The cherry on the cake of the conversation came right at the end, when after saying Farage is a “disaster of a politician” the man promptly tells Jay: “I’m voting Count Binface!”
The exchange was posted by the 94-year-old’s daughter on Facebook, and has since gone viral.
Praise has flooded in for the pensioner, with some saying the exchange is “beautiful” and an “absolute delight.”
