Ah, Boris. Boris, Boris, Boris…
There’s just never a dull moment, is there? Instead, there are plenty of toe-curlingly embarrassing moments, such as the one we’re about to witness.
Well aware that a camera was trained on him, the Foreign Secretary couldn’t resist asking a fortune teller for her General Election forecast while passing Plymouth’s Gipsy Acora on Wednesday.
Directing his question at the lady standing in the doorway of the Clairvoyant’s shop, the man beside her was first to answer.
“I think Labour,” he said.
Slightly embarrassing, but not exactly terrible so far for Boris.
Undeterred, Boris handed over a piece of paper and mumbled something about whether this was the “official” forecast.
At this point, the fortune teller stepped in.
“You’re having a laugh,” she said. “You’re taking away my pension and then my rights and then you come and ask me for something for nothing.”
After a nervous sideways glance towards the camera, the grin briefly slips from Boris’ face. It’s perfectly clear at this stage that he’s not entirely sure what to say or how to react next.
As much as we’d love to know what was said next, disappointingly, the footage ends at this point.
