The Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has died, according to a senior Israeli official quoted by Reuters and The Telegraph.
No confirmation of Khamenei's death has yet been made by Iran.
The reports indicate that the 86-year-old was killed as a result of airstrikes, and reports have claimed that his body has been discovered.
Khamenei's death comes after the US and Israel carried out joint strikes on Iran earlier on Saturday, targeting various locations in the country, including the capital of Tehran.
The clerical ruler has been at the forefront of Iranian politics since 1989.
