The UK is forecast to see an "above average" temperature over summer with a very high likelihood of peaking in the Met Office's hottest temperature category. Last year saw record-breaking summer temperatures, with  new all time high set in Faversham, Kent of 35.8C. "The probability the UK average temperature will fall into the warmest of our five categories is 45-50 per cent. The coldest of our five categories is five per cent. "Long-range prediction systems show a consistent increase in the likelihood of high pressure, associated with warmer-than-average conditions."
