VIDEO: Conor McGregor is a little gutted he won’t be on the Irish €1 coin

It was good while it lasted.

There was actually a moment when some thought it might be possible that Ireland could be about to put Conor McGregor's face on the country's version of the €1 coin. After all, his exploits on the world stage have made him arguably the most recognisable man in Ireland - so why not stick him on a nugget? McGregor was obviously loving the fact that there was a campaign to get his mug on his country's money, and even tweeted this artist's impression by our brothers over the sea at JOE.ie... https://twitter.com/TheNotoriousMMA/status/687224600476938240 The petition to mint McGregor money reached the Irish Government who were set to discuss it, but they dismissed it pretty quickly after they couldn't get hold of the original petitioner.
