UK soap star arrested on suspicion of sex offences against five teenage boys

A police spokesperson confirmed the arrest

The alleged offences relate to claims dating back to the 1990s, when the actor at the time was starring in many high-profile shows side by side with some of Britain's most famous names.

Police raided the home of the actor, who has not been named, earlier this month.

The arrested person was held for multiple hours before being released on bail.

His family and partner are reported to be shocked by the allegation which the actor denies.

A police spokesperson confirmed to The Sun: "Officers investigating allegations relating to the 1990s detained a man.

"He was arrested on suspicion of several sexual offences relating to five men who were teenage boys at the time of the alleged offending. He has been conditionally bailed while enquiries continue."

Following the police raid on the suspect's home, computers and documents were reportedly seized in a search for evidence related to the allegations.
