A tsunami warning has been issued after strong earthquake hit off the coast of Japan.
Japan issued a tsunami advisory warning on Sunday (9 November) after a 6.7 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Japan's main island Honshu.
The Japan Meteorological Agency said a tsunami was expected to arrive soon after the quake with a maximum height of one meter, or just over three feet.
The epicentre for the quake was located around 80 miles east of Yamada, Japan, as per the according to the United States Geological Survey.
A tsunami advisory is the lowest of three types of tsunami alerts issued by the agency,
It warns people to evacuate coastal areas.
Tsunamis of that size can produce strong currents that can capsize small vessels.
