Trump’s remarks on immigrant workers in the US have stunned many of his supporters, who point out that his latest comments go against his own 'America First' ideology.
Despite the US President's aggressive campaign to expel illegal immigrants from the United States, with controversy continuing to surround the Trump administration’s mass deportations this past year, it appears as if Trump has a different point of view when it comes to what people from different countries can bring to America.
In an interview with Laura Ingraham on Fox News on Monday (November 10), Trump claimed that to prosper, the US economy will need to 'bring in talent', which includes people on the H-1B specialist visa program.
When told America has 'talented people' of its own, Trump was quick to claim the contrary.
"No you don’t," he said. "You don’t have certain talents, and people have to learn. You can’t take people off an unemployment line and say, 'I’m going to put you into a factory and we’re going to make missiles'."
This comment immediately sparked lots of backlash online.
a MAGA commissioner, Anthony Sabatini, wrote on X: "This is insane—we are going to lose the mid-terms so badly
"We’ve never seen an administration crash & burn in its first year so badly—for no reason other than to appease donors & special interests."

"Trump broke everyone's heart with this line about the American workforce and H-1B's," added commentator Mike Cernovich.
Others had a lot to say regarding the H-1B visa suggestion, which is very popular in the tech world.
"Americans train their H1B replacements every day," one user wrote, with another adding: "The opposite can also happen. H1B can train their American replacement. Tell @realDonaldTrump America First means #AMERICANSFIRST."
However, not everyone is entirely opposed to this viewpoint.
Scott Jennings said in a panel discussion on CNN: "You can be America First and also recognise there may be times that you can import talent from other countries that makes America stronger.
"We’ve done that for decades."
Someone else wrote online: "This is the most sane thing he's ever said. People need to realise intelligence doesn't know borders, so if you want the best, you need to go look for it," per Unilad..
