Tory MPs blast Starbucks for their ‘anti-Christmas’ festive cups

Do these offend you?

Simon Lloyd

Coffee shop giants have decided to change their coffee cups to red as Christmas approaches.

It might not seem like much of a big deal to many of us, but that’s certainly not the case with Conservative MP Sir David Amess who described the minimalistic design as “utter madness” when speaking to the Brietbart London website.

“I do think this is an example of political correctness gone mad. What is Christmas about? It’s CHRIST-Mass,” he claimed.

“This is utter madness. Who was the idiot who thought this up? He should be sacked!”

And he’s not alone in expressing his displeasure at the design.

Fellow Tory MP, David Burrowes, also remarked that it “smells like political correctness”.

The pair appear to be annoyed at the lack of references outright Christmas references on the cups. Or perhaps they were hoping to see their favourite Bible quotes emblazoned on the side.
