Tesco forced to take extreme measures after shoppers overreact to plastic bag charge

The 5p plastic bag charge isn't going away any time soon, but some people are reacting in strange ways.
A Tesco store in Oldham has been forced to put security tags on their baskets after shoppers were seen making off with them to avoid paying for bags. "It is not a blanket policy, but we have introduced security tags as a result," Tesco said. Of course it's not a blanket policy - it's a basket policy.
